Current Experience
Animal Kingdom
The Animal Kingdom Park is opening on Saturday, July 11th, 2020. There are specific guidelines that guests must follow for everyone's safety and protection. Here are the must know items before you arrive at Animal Kingdom:
Not sure where the temperature screening will be conducted yet, but screening will be conducted with a thermal no-touch thermometer conducted by an Advent Health specialist. Anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 will require additional screening and assistance. If after the additional screening you still have a temperature of 100.4 or above, you will not be aloud entry into Animal Kingdom Park along with all members of your traveling party.
As you enter the screening area of Animal Kingdom, all guests ages 2 and older will be required to wear face coverings. These face coverings need to fully cover an individual's nose and mouth while allowing the guest to remain hands-free. The masks must fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face and be secured with ties or ear loops. And last, the face coverings must be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable. The only time when a guest should remove their face covering is when dining. Face coverings are not provided by Disney. Note: Neck gaiters, bandannas, or masks with holes of any kind are not permitted at the Animal Kingdom Park.
In areas where it is difficult to physically distance such as at cash registers or at guest relations, physical barriers will be present in the form of Plexiglas or other materials to ensure limited contact between guests and cast members. It is also recommended to use cashless transactions for all purchases as well to help limit the contact between guests and cast members. Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Disney Gift Cards, and even mobile wallets are accepted at most locations around Animal Kingdom. And when dining, it is recommended to use mobile ordering services at participating locations using the My Disney Experience App.
Capacity limits will also be seen when entering locations including shops, restaurants, and other locations. This is enforced by cast members and employees counting guests as they enter and leave the locations. Each location will have signage installed to direct guests as to the entry and exit points of each location, and these entries and exits should not be used opposite of their intent. Additionally, ground markings have also been installed to help promote physical distancing when queuing is required.
And last, you'll notice an abundance of cleaning and disinfecting in high-traffic areas, specifically at elevators, escalators, handrails, benches, tables, restrooms, and other places. Hand sanitizer stations and hand washing stations have also been setup throughout Animal Kingdom (included at the entrance and exit to each attraction) and guests are encouraged to utilize these cleaning measures frequently while visiting Animal Kingdom.
